"But You're A Mom"
Growing up I don’t think I ever thought about motherhood, especially not in terms of me being a mom. I have 4 siblings, and we pretty much all have a cousin with a similar age, so I grew up around a lot of people. I grew up in Muskegon MI, and then we moved to Grand Rapids MI when I was about 7. Growing up, life was pretty chaotic, so I have always been focused on making the most of myself.
When I think about my journey into motherhood I can’t help but to be so thankful for all the lives I lived before my daughter was born. I’d traveled a lot, graduated from college, moved around, lived alone, and had other experiences, so when she came, I didn’t feel like I had to put any dreams or desires to the side. Of course having a child impacts your entire life, but I am thankful for how I used my time before she was born.
Now that she is here, we have continued to live our lives and go on great adventures. I felt like it was important to do all the things I love, but with her so that we are both fulfilled in some capacity. We travel often, go to museums, concerts, nature walks, and much more. We are girls who love to do stuff!
